Who we are

Our love from animals started from the earliest of memories. Once we found one another and began our shared journey we dreamed of a farm where animals could be treated with love, dignity and respect. The idea of large scale factory farming, in which animals are kept and bred in tiny pens and pumped full of unnecessary medications, under inhumane conditions, struck us as unhealthy, unethical, and downright unamerican. We believe each and every animal deserves love and respect, even if their end use may be as food. Our animals, whether they are intended for dairy, meat, wool, or pets, are treated equally, with each one getting the attention and care they deserve. It is our utmost desire to provide livestock to the local community in keeping with the Appalachian values of self-reliance, love for one’s neighbors, and responsible stewardship over the land. While we have backgrounds in manufacturing, the military, and veterinary services, our great joys in life are farming and family. We are blessed with two wonderful children, and seeing them learn to care and love for animals has been a truly rewarding experience.
